The Mother’s Day flea market that was held at Rover’s Club in Welkom on Saturday, 10 May, was a roaring success. The stalls have grown exponentially to more than 100, and there was also an exceptional variety of goods to purchase. The new venue is cosy and quaint and the layout allows for a true market experience, with nooks and crannies offering new discoveries and experiences around every corner. “Exhibitors and the public alike, love the venue. We are grateful to all the clubs there for supporting the event, and the public for supporting the new tea garden where you can sit comfortably and enjoy something to eat and drink. The Welkom Publicity Association (WPA) ran a Mother’s Day raffle, and proceeds went to 4 Ferrell Rescue. We raised R950 towards this worthy cause,” says Dulcie Harris of the WPA. The next market, the Father’s Day Market, is on 14 June. From the left are Harris, Caria Khats (Gold FM) and Roger Coetzee (Capital Sounds). Photo: Marti Will
