Truth has the powerful ability to bring reality into perspective.

For instance, if you were in a relationship and you were emotionally indecisive as to whether this person is your marriage partner or the wrong person. Truth would set you free.

Truth would empower you to make the right decision because you were no longer blindsided by the situation. You would see it for what it is.

The enemy of our soul loves to sugar-coat life so that we cannot see what truly lies beneath. He is a master salesman who knows exactly how to market to the very egoistic desires that drive us.

But he has to lie to sell his reality or we would never buy it. So when it comes to fun and celebration, the more colourful, the better.

This generation of young people are smart and connected, so cigarettes and conventional drinks are out. But fruity, colourful and sweet alcohol and hubbly’s are in. Let us conceal the bitter truth with some sugar and spice.

With that in mind, the end of October promises a party with great fun in sight, but is covered in trickery. You guessed it. Halloween. You might be thinking “Come on! Innocent dress-up. Are you serious?”

Well, ask Anton Lavey, founder of the Church of Satan. He is quoted as saying: “I am glad that Christian parents let their children worship the devil at least one night out of the year. Welcome to Halloween.”

You see, when you are part of a Christian church, you know who you are worshipping: Jesus Christ, the King of kings, and Lord of lords.

But darkness hides in plain sight: in premarital sex, in the lottery. It promises to fulfil the good desires placed inside of us by God, for love and security, but leaves us broken and deluded. And so it is with Halloween. An occultic practice hidden in dress-up and sweets.

Jesus is not a killjoy. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life of the party.

So, do not get suckered into something that could potentially expose your children to harm. But do not take my word for it.

Do your own research and empower yourself and your family. May the Lord bless you and keep you by his power and grace.
